Right and Wrong -Nothing in BetweenThis is a veritable impossibility to me!
Every community member has to have some degree of control over the whole, and certainly several people should be able to do something about anything. True the end result might not meet the original intention, but we have a responsability and something always has to be done. If not, the next time it will be you who is angered, blindsided, hamstrung, backstabbed or mistreated in some similar way.
By way of illustration, I provide the following screen shots of all the posts anyone dugg from profy articles in the last week. You will note that most are from different individuals, and that there are none listed when the field for “buried” articles is not checked. The converse reveals that there were actually 10 dugg and then buried within a few hours of having been dugg. This imagery deos not reflect other stories past the 7 days. A picture should be worth a thousand words, especially since a couple of these stories are highly original and were viewed by hundreds of people outside the Digg realm. I look forward to you comments and suggestions. See I did something!

And that’s all I have to say about that!

That’s a really thought-provoking post and I did not want to disencourage you with my words that we could do nothing about it. I just know how difficult it is to get something out of Digg. Maybe combined efforts of a group of influential diggers could help. But you and me – we just won’t be able to change the situation. But I do hope Digg will decide it wise opening the bury sideof the posts to us eventually – they will have to or people will leave Digg finally.
Hi Svetlana! You are always so thorough and thoughful…thanks!
I am sure, like you, that the mutterings of a few cannot sway the Titanic from its course, but then one set of binoculars in the forward crows nest of that great ship would have diverted the greatest maritime disaster in history.
I agree with your position, really I do. I just know what you have set out to do and what my part has been in it. Doing things honestly and for the right reasons should preclude any such infantile attempts such as these.
Having stories from the NYT or Profy covered up, should be a paramount concern to any entity that presupposes to submit itself to the world. In fact, I probably could have gotten a small mention of this nice fellows web venture in any paper in the country with a phone call.
Perhaps someone will digg this and my little 3 post blog (so far) can get buried too.
Always,
Phil
“Digg’s Bury Brigade”
okai I wrote a whole lot more then whats above but my browser crashed and ended up with that nickname of the digg hit squad!! i will type it again later on
chin up Phil!!
That’s the rumor MJ.
Brigade, Platoon, Elite Recon Unit, whatever. I would equate them with scurvy pirates, but that is too romantic sounding. More like egg throwers in an otherwise clean community.
As it turns out the brigade is agent smith!
